Clinton August 4 Police officer Fred Koch was killed and Eugene Moore the bootlegger and his wife wounded in an early morning shootout. Moore had threatened to shoot to kill any officer attempting arrest. Koch died from a heart wound while Moore was later found with a lung injury. Mrs Moore not seriously hurt.
