Des Moines Iowa August 3 The late Senator Albert J Cummins started his autobiography to pay tribute to his father Thomas Layton Cummins a carpenter and to his mother He wrote he was born February 14 1850 in a log house near Carmichael Pennsylvania and lived there until August 16 1869 The manuscript now lies with his daughter Mrs Hollis A Rawson as a family treasure with only a few paragraphs completed.
