Des Moines Valley Division timetable lists leave and arrive times for trains 215 216 241 242 and stock express No 204. Daily services except Sunday include Nos 15 16 and connections at Knoxville with Chicago Burlington and Quincy line.
Debtors urged to settle with Schneider Bros at W. H. Butterfield’s office. Lem B Parker and Mrs Parker travel to New York to become professional actors for the season. Mrs Clarissa Shanatelt died last evening at 8:15 after a three week illness amid extreme heat. Born 1825 in Belmont County Ohio, she lived with her daughter Mrs W Shanafelt on East Main Street. Funeral tomorrow at two from the W Shanafelt home, conducted by Rev Thorn. Elm Grove burial. Washington sweltered with a 99 degree July heat, humidity making it intolerable. No fatalities reported so far.
Dave McCune of this city leaves at noon aboard the Narrow Gauge bound for West Brazil South America. Born and raised here he is a painter by trade and expects to make the country his future home. He cites its even climate with temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees as a major draw, traveling via New Orleans.
The ladies overseeing the White benefit invite all to a well aired evening at the opera house with refreshments served by the ladies. Mr Starkie the music dealer will provide a piano for the occasion and look for the program in tomorrow's paper.
The Turner Hardware Store gave away a stove Saturday. Mrs. D. W. Norton guessed 356 pounds, the closest to the exact weight of 554 pounds for the Clark steel range. Without the weights, the stove weighed 312 pounds.
A party slated for pictures at Cole's Gallery yesterday was halted after an officer advised Mr. Cole not to disobey the law. He dismissed the group without a photo, noting workers prefer to avoid trouble and that obeying the law is essential.

Mrs Eli Guilmot, once taken to Hospital for the Insane in Mt Pleasant, will be brought home today and placed in the County House where she will receive the best attention available.
City council to vote tonight on placing an arc light in the center of the public park for at least two weeks during the encampment. Officials seek nightly band concerts to advertise the city and present a favorable scene. An ad for Miss Jessie Sage appears, noting her as a skilled musician and instructor.
Mrs Carson Crawford wife of QC Crawford dies at her home in Ainsworth at four this morning aged sixty one born in Greenville Pennsylvania came to Iowa in 1837 settled Burlington later lived in Amboy and Ainsworth since 1854 married to C Crawford in 1856. The children are Mrs Martha McCullough Mrs Anna Hamill Mrs Francis Kiper Ralph and Rollie all of Ainsworth. brother John Porter and sister Mrs Mary Howne of Clarinda Iowa. Funeral tomorrow at 2:30 p m from the Ainsworth U P church with Rev Davis officiating burial in Ainsworth cemetery.
In Justice Rogers court a jury trial involves plaintiff Jobson former North Side Bakery owner and baker Clark Pafton now with Baird Patton. Attorney Will White represents Trafton with assistance from Dr Wilson and County Attorney Brookfart. Capt Kellogg defends Mr Johnson. Attorneys clash delaying proceedings. verdict unlikely before six.
