Coal tower collapse kills Denison city worker
Denison city employee William Rabe aged 38 was crushed when a 60-foot automatic coal storage tower adjoining the municipal light plant collapsed Wednesday evening. He died near the unloading platform as coal showered on him during tower construction. Investigators probe cause. Rabe survived by wife and eight children, one son serving in the Navy in the South Pacific.
Mystery Girl at Dubuque Identified
Carol Anderson, 17, of Madison Wisconsin was identified as the mystery girl in Dubuque. Her parents Mr and Mrs Cecil Anderson reported her condition improving with partial consciousness regained. She escaped from the girls industrial school at Oregon Wisconsin and will be returned when fit, police chief Strub said.
