Baker Funeral to Be Saturday in Wellman
WELLMAN April 23 Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at two for Mrs. Theodore Q. Baker who died yesterday after an illness of about ten days. Born April 16 1845 in Lancaster county Pa she married Theodore Q. Baker March 30 1869. They lived on a farm north of Wellman then moved to town. Surviving are two daughters Mrs Emma Trieschmann and Mrs Lewis Groff both of Wellman eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A brother Sam Shrader of Cedar Rapids and two brothers and one sister are deceased. Also noted Sam J Swartzendruber of north of Wellman died this afternoon from blood poisoning. He leaves a wife and six children. Willard Thurman of near Wellman leaves for Anstadh sanitarium Colfax for rheumatism treatment. Cordelle Braden Wellman Journal correspondent broke her left leg last night in Mercy hospital Iowa City reported to be progressing well.
