Whale carcass mission ends with dynamite failed blast
A 33 foot whale washed ashore near Virginia Beach died. Navy disposed carcass and considered dynamite blasting to tow it out. 120 pounds of dynamite failed to explode. The whale drifted away and later washed ashore again, then demolition team removed the dynamite and left the hulk on the beach.
