Jim France of Burlington has been named manager of the Montgomery Ward store here succeeding the late Charles Goodell. France, 30, has six and a half years with Wards and two years as operating manager in Burlington. He has worked in Kansas City Columbus Neb Keokuk and Chillicothe Mo. He is president of Washington’s Coffee Club and plans to relocate his wife Pat and two children Debbie and Derrick. France holds a physical education degree from Baker University and enjoys golf swimming boating skiing and other sports.

First Iowans Drafted for 1972 Induction
Col Henry Fleischacker Iowa director of the Selective Service says the first Iowans drafted in 1972 will report to induction centers early next week. About 100 to 125 men will be inducted next week to meet April quotas with 50 to 65 called in May. All inductees have lottery numbers 1 to 15 and are born in 1952 making them 19 or 20. This is under the Uniform National Call System based on lottery numbers.
