In Toledo on April 18, 20000 idle miners in the central competitive district will return to work Monday after a mutual agreement between miners and operators. The pact includes 90 cent toll, a district referendum, an eight hour day, uniform standards, and interdistrict cooperation, with Toledo to host the next interstate conference in 1910.
Chester Pa April 18 four troops of the state police are in command of the city to maintain the strike situation. The troopers rode into Chester under Captain John Groome and prepared to restore order as unrest continues.

A sixteen year old colored boy attempting to steal a ride on a Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern freight train was killed near North Vernon Indiana. He and a companion were beating their way toward Cincinnati when he fell from the moving cars at the city limits and was cut in two.
