Funeral planned for Des Moines murder victim Janice Snow
Des Moines police pursue a lead in the stabbing death of 17 year old Janice Snow, a Des Moines Tech junior. Services set for 1:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Police questioned about 50 people as they trace her movements from Monday night until Thursday morning. A man questioned earlier was cleared after a lie detector test. Time of death placed around midnight Wednesday. Snow was stabbed 14 times. her coat shows she struggled with the assailant.

Highs forecast from 30 in the north to the 50s in the south and central regions. Cool, unsettled conditions prevail across the state.

4 H club promotes farm safety emblems for slow moving vehicles
In Washington County 4 H emphasizes tractor and machinery safety for 1965. Ohio State University designed a day night emblem for vehicles under 25 mph. The triangle shaped sheet aluminum emblem, with fluorescent red border and orange day visibility, sells for 3 to 4 dollars with 20 cent brackets to move between machines. Emblems aid road safety by allowing identification from over 1000 feet away and include red night lights.

Four die in Iowa traffic accidents in early 1965
Four persons are killed in Iowa traffic crashes raising the year to date death toll. Donna Fetters, 16, of Carlisle, was fatally injured when Delbert Fetters 18 lost control on Iowa 92 near Knoxville and the car rolled into a ditch. Karen Bartholomew, also of Carlisle, was injured. Mary Pirillo, 51, Des Moines, died after a freight train struck the stalled car on Rock Island Lines. her husband Peter 52 and daughter Grace 15 were trapped and later survived. Earlier victims include Ed Battani of Granger and Ben Jameson, 25, of Ames.

Students Protest Viet Nam War Policy in Washington
