South Dakotans May Still Fish In Iowa

Davenport Fire Destroys Hackner Tire Shop
A Davenport two story Hackner Tire Shop burned causing about 150000 in damage. Firefighter Leo Schneider fell 20 feet from a ladder while battling the early morning blaze and was hospitalized in serious condition. No other injuries were reported as crews controlled the flames after about two hours.

Divorced mother kills two children then tries suicide in Centerville
Eloise Scarlett a 32 year old mother visiting her former husband’s home killed her son Harry Jr 7 and daughter Doris 9 as they slept and then slashed her wrists and throat. The couple were divorced last November with custody awarded to the husband. Scarlett in critical condition at St Joseph’s hospital. No charges filed by early today. The husband stayed with relatives as police and county attorney reviewed the case.
