Oil rig capsizes in Gulf. 12 feared dead, 22 survive
A massive Gulf of Mexico tow rig named Ocean Express capsized near Port Aransas, 30 miles east of Texas. Coast Guard and USS Lexington helicopters battled 12 to 16 foot waves as 22 crew members survived, 12 remained in an overturned orange survival capsule, with 2 unaccounted for. Divers reported bodies inside the capsule while a search continued. The capsule could hold 28. the rig was leased to Marathon Oil by ODOCO of New Orleans.

Ainsworth Bank Robbery Triggers Intensive Search
Ainsworth State Bank was robbed Thursday around 2 10 pm by a masked gunman who escaped with about 5000 dollars. FBI agents joined Iowa BCI and Washington County officers in the investigation as the suspect fled in a stolen car. No one was injured and the bank remained closed for the loss assessment. The bandit, armed with a small handgun, forced four employees and a customer to lie down and fled in a second vehicle after abandoning the getaway car three miles north of Ainsworth. Sheriff Yale Jarvis commended the bank staff for calm handling and investigators continued efforts to locate the suspect as the case drew regional attention.
