United Press reports Armand P D Willis of the Moscow embassy information service accuses the U S mission of being run by career Russian haters hindering dialogue with the Soviet Union. The story ties this to broader postwar tensions including Marshall Stalin talks and Greek Turkish aid debates.

Norma F. Dunsmore petitions for a decree of divorce from Allen G. Dunsmore citing a 1943 Washington marriage, one child Shelby Jean, and a felon conviction for the defendant. Custody is granted to the plaintiff with an agreed property settlement. Baldrige Bailey represent Norma.
Des Moines reports February sales of U S savings bonds rose compared with 1945 and 1946. State director Roger Warin said totals for series EE F and G reached 21 385 969 with A through E redemptions at 7 291 968. County figures show varied gains across Washington Cedar Des Moines Henry and other counties with substantial investment and redemptions.
A 45 minute program of U S army films was shown at the Legion and Legion Auxiliary meeting. Sgt Anson and Ray Lawrence provided materials with Milo Sorden arranging access through the Sorden Music Co. A brief business session followed. The Muscatine district spring conference is set for April 29 and reservations were urged.
Verdon of Muscatine drove a John Morrell company car from Ot tumwa when a tire blew out at dawn. The vehicle swerved to the road shoulder and struck the creek bridge railing just east of Ainsworth, causing about 400 dollars in damage.
Harold DeLong was picked up by Officer Will Clark for intoxication. He was sentenced by Justice of the Peace J. E. Bovee to 15 days in the county jail. DeLong had just been released from jail at Iowa City where he had been serving for drunkenness.
A light snowstorm left two or three inches of damp snow on sidewalks early today and more snow fell during the forenoon before clearing.
The Senate House Economic Committee will summon leaders from industry labor and agriculture to advise on the current price situation. Industrialists Henry Ford II and Fowler McCormick of International Harvester may appear after recent price cuts. Chairman Taft said questionnaires will be sent to diverse sectors and a statement on prices will be issued Friday. He declined to discuss wage talks or a confidential report suggesting price cuts with profits. President Truman warned that without price reductions labor may seek higher wages.
A gelignite bomb with a time fuse was found in a women’s lavatory on the main floor of Dover House, part of the Colonial Office in Whitehall. An official said the attack was part of a general terror campaign against British policy in Palestine, not directly tied to today’s execution in Palestine. The device was set for 1 p.m. and Dover House houses three economic branches.
Cedar Rapids grocer Frank Pfaff won an injunction barring AF of L meat cutters from picketing his store. Judge G K Thompson condemned the economic pressure as immoral and illegal, noting union and local business firms had cooperated in boycotts. Pfaff denied union interference and said his workers were not interested in organizing.
Japanese railway coach carrying more than 30 people caught fire in a tunnel between Osaka and Nara. Mainichi reported the deadly blaze during the April 16 incident.

Des Moines April 16 The senate approved a bill to impose a two per cent sales tax on slot machines and other amusements not covered by admission tickets. House approval came yesterday. The measure would raise 600 000 to 800 000 in additional taxes and exclude bowling alleys. The bill would not legalize any prohibited amusements. An amendment to apply the tax only to legally coin operated machines was defeated 24 to 22.
The Cherry Burrell plant in Cedar Rapids Iowa resumed operations as 350 CIO workers returned to their jobs. The strike began at noon yesterday and ended when workers voted to return to pressure negotiators for a new contract seeking a 16 cent hourly wage increase.
