Tickets go on sale before and after the Sound of Music performances on Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11. The Old Creamery Theater Co appearance in Washington is sponsored by the Summer Creative Arts and Drama group. Tickets cost $2 and include a choice of You Know I Can’t Hear You When the Water’s Running Friday or Plaza Suite Saturday. A coffee hour with players follows the May 11 show.

Nixon rejects tax help despite citizen gifts
President Nixon has received 43 657 71 dollars from well wishers to aid his back taxes but will return the money with appreciation. White House spokesman Ken W. Clawson said Nixon will abide by the IRS ruling that he owes 467 000 dollars in delinquent taxes and interest for 1969 to 1972 and will pay the full amount himself, even if it requires borrowing.

Nine Die On Iowa Highways Over Easter Weekend
United Press International reports nine deaths on Iowa roads over the Easter weekend as the 55 mile per hour limit nears full effect. Carl Hanson 64 of Fort Dodge died when his car flipped into a ditch two miles south of Badger. Janet Hackett 27 of Fort Dodge escaped injury. Hansons wife Mary 56 was hospitalized. Ronald Ehrhardt 17 of Humboldt died after a car driven by Bruce Hundertmark 16 of Rutland rolled into a ditch. Hundertmark was treated and released after the crash north of Humboldt.

Rasmussen plans his bicycle trip across Iowa

He aims to reach Des Moines the week of April 28 with the route to be announced soon. He describes the campaign ride as a billboard on wheels and stresses it as a practical, low-cost method to reach voters.
