Niccum Denies Murder Charge In Des Moines Trial
Michael Charles Niccum, 23, on trial for first degree murder in the beating death of 17 year old Linda Boothe, testified that he did not kill her and claimed the state's key witness Thomas La Verne Logsdon was over the body with a golf club shaft in hand. The victim was found barely alive in a Des Moines cleaning plant and died after hospitalization. Logsdon previously testified against Niccum in Polk County District Court.

North Korean claim of shot down spy plane shocks U.S.

Americans use beehive rounds dive bombers and helicopters to repel the attack leaving 13 GIs dead 33 wounded 238 enemies killed and dozens more bodies found near the base. Across the DMZ and in 20 towns and camps shells strike north and south of Saigon with seven South Vietnamese wounded as American forces counterattack destroying bunkers huts and sampans and silencing a gun threatening a Marine artillery base.
