Youth is Struck By Spent Bullet On Country Road
Dale Curtis, 20, of 620 West Jefferson, was hit in the back by a spent 22 caliber bullet while walking with two friends Sunday evening near town. He learned of the wound only after 9 pm when a doctor confirmed the injury with X rays. The bullet likely came from timber south of Highway No. 2 and caused bleeding and possible infection. he was treated with drainage and anti-tetanus serum.

Boyd Berdo Dies After Illness A Year At Washington County Hospital
Boyd B Berdo born February 6 1887 on a farm north of Jackson township lived here most of his life. He served as assistant cashier at two banks and later worked on the farm with his son Charles. He died yesterday afternoon at 4 50 at Washington County Hospital after a long illness and is survived by family and friends. Services will be held Tuesday at 3 pm at Sherman’s Funeral Home with Rev Arthur Atack of the Methodist church presiding. Interment will be in Elm Grove cemetery. He was a member of the Masonic orders and Modern Woodmen of America.
