Repeal of farm wagon license law passes Iowa Senate
The Iowa Senate approved a bill 49 to 9 to end the license requirement for farm wagons transporting farm products on public roads. Sponsor Sen. James Schaben said the five dollar licenses are not enforced and counties collect about forty thousand four hundred eighty dollars annually from wagon licensing fees.

Lake Darling Park Prepares for Memorial Day Opening
Lake Darling Park braces for two major improvements the main park road blacktop 26 miles and a new camping area at the west end. Park officer Jim McEldoon says the road work requires culverts regrading curves and resurfacing and the park will stay closed until the project is finished with a Memorial Day target. The new camping site adds access roads a shower house current water and power hookups and a fishing spot with docks and a boat landing under construction. The old camping area becomes a picnic area and restocking plans include catfish and black bass with a yearly lake restock plus tree planting and dead tree removal. Last year about 300000 visitors came to Lake Darling as it nears its peak season.
