J A Wehr Near Haskins is Dead
Funeral services for Joel Alvin Wehr will be held at 2 pm tomorrow at the Haskins Presbyterian church with Dr. F W Eastwood and Rev S F Wenger in charge. Interment will be at the family plot in Ainsworth cemetery. He died about 11 am yesterday at a son Ralph's home near Haskins after two years of ill health and an unexpected heart complication. He was born December 19 1862 in Louisa County and lived in Des Moines and Indianola before moving to Haskins Washington county in 1906. He was married to Ella Walker in Indianola on December 28 1886 and later moved to Washington. He belonged to the Presbyterian church in Haskins.

City Ordinance Sets Council Appointment For Mayor Vacancy
Ordinance No. 14 Section 18 provides that when a vacancy occurs in the office of councilman or mayor or any elective city office the council shall appoint a qualified elector to fill the vacancy. The appointee serves until the successor is qualified and elected at the next regular municipal election. If a vacancy arises in an office appointed by the mayor the vacancy is filled as the original appointment was.
