Guthrie county three supervisors resign leaving the county without a board. Orlo Kosht of Bagley, former deputy county treasurer, to serve as county auditor succeeding William H. Chappell, paperhanger, removed after a four day district court hearing. A petition by Iowa Attorney General John M. Rankin accused Chappell of willful misconduct and lending county funds to himself. supervisors declined to comment.

Iowa Senate Rejects Woman Fishing License Requirement
The Iowa Senate paused work to consider an amendment to strike license requirements for women stream fishing. By a rising vote it declined to require women to obtain a $1 annual fishing license, preserving the existing rule that women must have a license to fish in state streams. The measures would revoke beer permits from taverns with federal licenses, ban dancing in taverns or adjoining rooms, and bar taverns in residential districts while allowing them only in business districts.

The Washington city library reports total book circulation for the year ending April 1 at 381671, up 1776 from the prior year. License Twenty New Cars Here During a Week

He has accepted the position of superintendent of schools at Lancaster, Missouri, where his term starts August 10. Perry L. Jordan's annual report to the Washington city council shows the year ending April first saw higher water use than ever before with 98,54,000 gallons pumped and consumed. The average daily pumpage was 264,800 gallons and December nearly matched July as the year's second highest month.
