Jailed for Carrying Concealed Weapons
Spencer Miller was arraigned in district court before Judge J G Patterson and pled guilty to carrying dangerous and concealed weapons. He was sentenced to three months in Washington county jail after arrest by Night Marshal Jaine Holmes for carrying brass knuckles. The Iowa Supreme Court affirmed Polk County District Court on K. W. Clark remaining state insurance commissioner. Clark, appointed January 21, by Governor Turner, had not been paid, and the state owes him over 2800 dollars in back salary and expenses. The court reversed Attorney General O Connors ruling that the tenure was illegal, ruling Clark’s appointment predated the salary raise.
