Melville D. Fuller, a Harris & Fuller broker, testified before impeachment managers that Governor Sulzer paid $16,000 in person near the last election and that he had no dealings with Mrs. Sulzer. The testimony traced Sulzer’s June 1910 account, collateral in Hig Four and American Smelter stock, and a final balance paid on July 4 with a mysterious note reading “for Mrs. Sulzer” that Fuller could not explain.
