Oklahoma jurors return a unanimous verdict after a single ballot in favor of Gore described as eloquent by supporters. The trial outcome affirms Gore's standing amid a crowded political climate in the state.
Washington February 19 The Interstate Commerce Commission expects a decision on proposed freight rate increases within about three months or before the summer recess on July 1 Commissioner Harlan outlined the plan urging Chicago Detroit Indianapolis Cincinnati and Buffalo interests to unite at hearings on switching and spur track conditions in these cities Other cities will be heard but sees no action on plant switches at hearings
A district court jury of two and a half minutes found Senator Gore not guilty of wrongdoing toward Mrs. Minnie E. Bond. The panel denied Bond the $50,000 she sought, returning a unanimous verdict for Gore. Bond’s attorney said he would appeal to the state supreme court.
The Associated Press reports heavy rainfall across Southern California from midnight Tuesday to 8 am today totaling six to eight inches. Rail traffic collapsed and city streets resembled mill races. A gas pumping station of Manufactur ers' Light & Heat Company near Waynesburg Pennsylvania was blown to pieces early today. John Spicer in charge was hurled 50 feet and died two hours later. Three other workers were seriously injured as the gas flare shot 100 feet into the air. The plant was the main pumping point on the line from West Virginia gas fields to Pittsburgh.

Lemuel B. Webb 81 died in Tabor Iowa. He was a personal friend of John Brown and helped operate his underground railroad for runaway slaves. Tabor was a key point on the line.
Washington February 19 Clarence B Smith of Fairmont West Virginia was nominated by President Wilson as United States Marshal for the northern district of West Virginia.
On February 19 in New York City a hearse carrying a woman's body burst into flames along lower Broadway. Police removed the body from the burning vehicle while firefighters extinguished the blaze. About 2000 pedestrians gathered to watch the incident.
