Memorial Day Observance Planned by American Legion
A detailed Memorial Day program is set for May 30 with city veterans groups and the American Legion in charge. Vacation Camp for Disabled World War Veterans at Fort Sheridan
The Federal Board for Vocational Education plans a summer vacation camp at Fort Sheridan Illinois from June 15 to September 15 for disabled World War I veterans in training. Each man receives two weeks off without halting training. The site offers water sports baseball tennis golf and indoor activities with noted athletic directors and college coaches invited.

Camp Seeks 5000 Trainees for Summer Vacation Camp
The committee overseeing the summer encampment includes Chas W Sylvester H J Betty and Albert C Meier for the Federal Board for Vocational Education with Myron E Adams and Major General Leonard A Wood also involved. About 5000 men are expected to attend the three month program with a daily fee of one dollar to cover food quarters entertainment and incidentals. Rail rates are set by the Western Passenger Association with round trips at 1.25 times the one way fare.

County Board Plans Three Day Junket To Inspect Roads
Bayfield County Board members will depart Tuesday morning June 7 from the County Tool House in this city for a three day auto inspection of county and state roads. Chairman George Curry will arrange scenery and details before departure as 148.6 miles on the state system and about 100 miles on the county trunk system will be covered. The purpose is to familiarize members with current and planned road work before meetings.

Funeral for Joe Trudell Held in City
The funeral for former city resident Joe Trudell aged 64 who died of acute heart trouble in Anderson Iron County this week was conducted by Rev Fr Bourcki at Hansen Undertaking Parlors on Thursday. Trudell was a blacksmith by trade and lived in the city in its early days.
