Misses Tooker and Hill Build $4,000 Sanitarium

The Misses Tooker and Hill of Chicago have let a $4,000 sanitarium contract to James A Sheridan of this city. Work will start at once on a slope one mile and a half west of town with views of the surrounding countryside. The sanitarium will treat hay fever and related diseases and is run by trained nurses. The piece notes circuit court reopening a week early, jurors and witnesses summoned, with Ida Carlson vs A Booth Co as a current trial in progress.

New Box Factory Set to Open Near Salmo

J H Sykes of the Fish Hatchery and other local investors plan a new box factory above Salmo eight miles north of town to produce wire reels heading lumber and boxes. The venture will employ many men and boys. Sykes will also start a fine residence on his farm near the hatchery.

Death of Mrs Joseph Vallincour on West Pine Street

sorrowful notice reports the untimely death of Mrs Joseph Vallincour at her West Pine Street home on a Saturday night from heart trouble. She had been in declining health for years and grew weaker over the past week. She was found deceased by her children on Sunday morning near the bed. Mr Vallincour was away in Bayfield at the time.

Fire damages Kenfield residence on West Third Street

Fire Sunday morning partially destroyed the Kenfield home on West Third Street occupied by the Mortensen family. Most household goods were saved but many items were broken or water insured. Building and contents were insured. The Mortensens are now staying at the Harris cottage on Fifth Street near Third Avenue West.

M E Church Notes Mark Baccalaureate and Union Service

The Methodist congregation unites with Lutheran for Baccalaureate services at the Lutheran church, so no morning service. Sunday school at the usual hour. A union memorial service at 7 30 p m with Rev. Weiss preaching. Clerk F A Bell visited Iron River. Holmes family from head of the lakes visited parents this week.

Hall's Place Boarding HouseDestroyed by Fire

A fire leveled Hall's Place, a boarding house above the Sioux River owned by Joe Hall. The structure burned Monday noon while Hall was away in Iron River. Local crews investigated the blaze and no injuries were reported.

Lord Miller of Superior Visits Gilbert Olson Home

Lord Miller of Superior visited the Gilbert Olson residence last Sunday. Manager Keefe of the Wisconsin Telephone company transacted business in the city during the allocation period.
