Bayfield County farmers rapidly see value in purebred herds. County Agent W. E. Brubaker helped form cooperative bull associations at Herbster and Drummond with U S Department of Agriculture support. Plans call for more in Port Wing Cornucopia Cable and Mason to buy 30 to 800 bulls and exchange them every two to three years. The Holstein group at Mason plans a bull purchase of two or three bulls around 800 each. Brubaker also treated 2000 bushels of seed grain for diseases and several smut machines were distributed across the county.
