Washburns Fourth Of July Celebration Promises Big Day

The Commercial Club schedules a major Washburn Fourth of July event with aerial feats by the Aerial Sherwoods of Chicago and a balloon ascent by Professor Leo Gage. Yesterday morning at St Louis church Miss Victoria Musolf married Alfred Clevette of Ruskin British Columbia. Dog Licenses Issued as City Dog Catcher Praises Work

Joe Boushey poundmaster and dog catcher has issued about two hundred dog licenses and expects to round up roughly a dozen more unlicensed dogs in the coming days. He says the job is not pleasant but believes it is handled satisfactorily.

Mason to Meet Washburn in Three-Game Series

The last Mason baseball team will travel by train Saturday night to play three games with Washburn city, one each on Sunday and Monday and the third on the afternoon of the 4th for a $50 purse. Both managers predict a good series with Mason aiming to win two and Washburn counting on a majority win.

Gospel Mission Series Arrives In City In Scandinavian Language

C Edwardson of Milwaukee and S Sorrenson of Ute Iowa arrive to hold a two week plus gospel mission in a tent on the vacant lot behind the Willey residence on 6th street. Services begin next Sunday evening and will be conducted daily in Scandinavian language with cordial invitation to all attendees.

Death of Miss Margith Saugren in Houghton

Miss Margith Saugren aged 22 died in Houghton Sunday from tuberculosis. Funeral was held Wednesday at 2 PM at the Norwegian Lutheran church with burial at Public Cemetery. Born in Norway she lived in the U.S. two years and was a sister of Mrs. Ben Severson. She was to marry Fred Berge of Hammond Indiana this fall.
