Washburn to Launch Anchor Shipbuilding Ferry Hudson Athens
The Anchor Shipbuilding company in Washburn will launch the double end steel ferry Hudson Athens at 2 PM Saturday June 25. Mrs. M H Sprague will christen the vessel as Washburn closes shops to witness the event. The 115 by 44 foot ferry, 12 foot deep, with two oil engines, will test in the Chequamegon Bay before sailing to the Hudson River canal.
