A party of Minneapolis men has purchased between 7000 and 8000 acres at the mouth of the Iron River. They intend to develop a large commercial orchard and farm. After eighteen months of acquisitions they now hold the land. The buyers, seasoned observers of the country, believe it offers superior fruit and farming prospects. Clearing work will begin soon.

County boards move to fund sanatorium for tuberculosis

Death of Mrs Hustland Bertha Hustland
Mrs Hustland Bertha Hustland wife of Julius Hustland of West Bayfield Street died Tuesday morning after a prolonged tuberculosis illness. Born in Norway February 28 1870 she came to the United States about 18 years ago. She married Julius Hustland June 11 1896 and they had five children four living the eldest 14 the youngest 6. Funeral Friday at 2:00 pm from the house and 2:30 pm at the church Carl Stromme in charge Burial in public cemetery. Copper finders Ferguson and Gyltz of Duluth visiting Bayfield County to verify ore reported by Clarence Wright manager of the Bayfield County Telephone Co. They are now in the northern part of the county pursuing a new find.
