Miss Fredricca Johnston and Ellsworth Alvord won the Wing Scholarship Prize for top class standings in 1911. Each will receive 50 dollars in gold. Alvord led the Christmas class, Johnston the June class. The prize comes from government bond interest donated by the late Col. Wing of Bayfield to encourage study.

Bond Sale Deferred on County Highway Issue

Loveland Company Sells Goats for Brush Clearing
Loveland company sold goats to E Knudson of Rice Lake for brush clearing on his farm. Each goat brought over 7.25 dollars. The animals were brought from Michigan years ago and cleared land in section 31 west of the city. The herd grew quickly and selling continued. The firm plans to turn section 31 into a large pasture and bring in cattle next spring to fatten on the grass and clover land.

State Highway Commission Hears Bridge Route Debate
