Washburn High School Graduation Tonight at Opera House
Washburn High School held its commencement at the Opera House with a full audience. The program featured Mary Redmond’s instrumental solo, invocations, salutatory by Ed M. Starr, various essays and declamations by graduates, a class song, and diplomas presented by Prof. D. E. Cameron. The crowd applauded Miss Mabel Peterson’s vocal solo and a quartette before final benediction by Rev. John Gibson.

Bayfield town board passes a curfew requiring all children unaccompanied by a parent to be off the streets at 8 45 PM and threatens arrest and a 1 to 5 dollar fine for truants after nine. The board also orders Sunday saloon closings and schedules a license hearing for a saloon keeper. A Bayfield County teachers institute is announced for Washburn starting August 13 with instructors from West Superior Normal School and Washburn High School.
