Omaha Railway’s Bridge and Building department will construct a 900 foot long platform extending west from Washington Avenue to serve Du Pont workmen. The big platform is driven by many workers disembarking and boarding at that point and start this week. The Du Pont plant train is among the system’s largest, currently limited to fourteen coaches. adding more may force a rule change or a double train. Heinz Pickle Plant Vats Completed and Ready for Business
The Heinz Pickle Company in the city completed its pickle salting station last Saturday. The facility includes twenty four vats from six to fourteen feet in diameter and a concrete salt bin, with a water tower also finished.
