35 000 Pounds of TNT Available for Bayfield Farmers
Bayfield county farmers will receive 35 000 pounds of TNT blasting explosive by late August at nine cents per pound. Distribution is limited to 200 pounds per farmer with orders by written letter to the County Agricultural Agent in Washburn. A total of 550 000 pounds will be distributed across northern counties, with demonstrations planned at Ashland Junction on July 21.

Moonshining Case Ends In Heavy Bayfield Sentence
Charles Erickson of Bayfield was sentenced after a three day federal and local probe into moonshine operations in Bayfield county. He received a $1500 fine and ten years in prison.
