The city considers renewing its street-lighting contract with the Electric Light and Power Company at $360 a month for 15 years, down from $412. The Times urges council probes and a possible purchase of the plant, noting city finances and potential savings of about $1.44 per light monthly.

Mr. George F. Graydon and Miss Ada Grindell were married at the bride's home yesterday afternoon with friends present. They depart for a two week trip east likely via the Great Lakes and will reside in the Lemke block upon return. Graydon works for Atlantic Manufacturing Company and Grindell taught in the public schools last year.
Captain R D Pike and Miss Lillian Johnson married at the Captain's Salmo home yesterday afternoon in the presence of friends from Bayfield. Miss Johnson has long managed the Pike household and educated Captains Pike's child, now beloved by Bayfield residents who wish the couple lasting happiness.
Charles Arnold an old Washburn settler and Civil War veteran died Monday forenoon after a brief illness. He served with distinction and received a legislature awarded gallantry badge. About sixty two, he never married. relatives near Boston were notified and the remains were taken to Estabrook Olson. Funeral planned for today.
