Warrant Issued For Tarboli and Wife Over Junk Purchases

Four underage boys admitted stealing lubricators and injectors from Hines Lumber in Ashland. They sold the items to Frank Tarboli and an Ashland junk dealer for a little over a dollar from roughly fifty dollars of goods. Municipal Judge A. M. Warden heard the case and warrants were issued against Tarboli and his wife for purchasing junk from minors without parental consent, a practice dealers had largely ignored.

Norwegian Lutheran Church Announces Services Next Sunday

The Norwegian Lutheran Church schedules a 10 30 a m service and an English service at 7 45 p m with an invitation to attend. The News office receives a fresh coat of paint while Rynolds and Davidson of Madison audit deed records for the State Tax commission to compare deeds for assessment and equalization, a project ordered by the legislature. It will run about four weeks and cover five years in the county.

No Celebration Called Off For City Anniversary

City cancels planned celebration due to insufficient funds. Citizens may attend events in Bayfield or Ashland instead, with local groups such as the band, gun club, baseball team, and gasoline launches joining the Bayfield festivities.

BASE BALL FEVER HITS WASHBURN FANS WITH TWO BRISK GAMES

Washburn fans packed local grounds near the depot last Sunday for a double feature. The First team edged Bayfield 4 to 3 after ten innings with Ross and Arseneau in the Washburn battery while Bolin and Bell toiled for Bayfield. The Washburn Dynamiters, formed from plant workers, defeated Mason 7 to 2 in a one sided contest at Mason.

The Washburn second team traveled to Ashland last Sunday to face the Brewers. Facing a strong lineup, Washburn youths were overpowered as Ashland Brewers won 16 to 7.

Floral allusions and a large bridal bouquet highlighted the ceremony with about forty guests. Out of town relatives attended and guests sent well wishes as the couple departed for their new home in Washburn.
