Bayfield and Ashland counties will build it to be turned over to the state when finished with University of Wisconsin supplying equipment and maintenance. Mail order sharks fleece Barron farmers
Farmers near Barron Wisconsin were targeted by two mail order crooks claiming to sell cheap flour and sugar from a Chicago house. Victims paid 10 to 50 dollars upfront with remaining charges due on arrival, totaling nearly 3000 dollars before neighbors suspected and notified Chicago. Authorities warn the scam is active in other parts of the state.
