George Dibbell Sr of this city has completed a model of a new rotary engine and has it patented in Canada. He expects similar patents from the United States and Mexico and plans to place the invention on the market after years of work. Friends join the Times in wishing him success.
A large crowd attended the I. O. G. T. Christmas exercises at their hall Monday evening. Bayfield lodge members traveled to join the event. A program was presented and lunch served, with all enjoying a pleasant evening.
Prospecting will occur this winter on Oregon farmer Thomas Hendrickson’s land near Four Mile Creek after he reported signs of iron ore. Local and outside parties plan a large exploratory shaft and ore samples will be analyzed to determine if mining can be profitable. If results are favorable, multiple investors will back development of a mine.

A man was killed recently while taking part in a mock lynching in Tennessee. The incident underscores the danger and futility of such brutal entertainments.
Attorney Berry of Phillips was in the city Tuesday on legal business. A adjourned county board annual meeting will be held one week from next Monday Jan 13. Nothing of importance will come be fore this meeting.

The Clover tax roll is under collection after the original roll was destroyed by fire. Property owners must contact Sheriff A B Severson in Washburn Wisconsin. He will be at Herbster on Monday December 23rd. Personal property tax must be paid by January 10th or a levy will be made and the property sold.

The Norwegian Lutheran Church will hold services at regular hours next Sunday with sermons by the pastor in the morning and evening. At 2 30 p m the pastor will conduct services at the Long Lake school house for settlers benefit. All are cordially invited to be present.
