Frankfort reports Gov. Goebel has fallen unconscious after a day of no nourishment since the shooting. By 1:45 pm he was weakening steadily, with brief rallys noted at 2 pm before worsening again. At 2:35 pm he was very low and breathing aided by oxygen. physicians abandoned hope by 2:45 pm, while efforts continued to keep him alive for his brother.
State Senator Goebel remains gravely ill after being shot in Frankfort Arizona. Doctors report worsening condition with hiccups nausea and rapid decline despite morphine injections. By noon his pulse and breathing show alarming levels as officials await further updates on his deteriorating health.

Louis Scholl of Pewaukee, a longtime Waukesha county pioneer, died at 11 this morning at age 80. He leaves a wife and five children William of Brookfield Charles Frank and Vincent of Pewaukee and Mrs Gepman of Pewaukee. Burial will be at St Peter and Paul's church Caplainville Tuesday at 10 with Rev Father Becker officiating.
William Myro a Cataract area farmer ten miles north of Sparta Wisconsin was killed when a setting machine flywheel burst. Fragments tore away his leg and arm and he died at 9 PM yesterday. Special report notes the tragedy occurred near the Cataract farm.
Hog cholera is prevalent about Hope in Cottage Grove. Farmers Bat man and Bechtel report losing thirty head with new cases reported daily. The issue highlights ongoing livestock losses and rapid spread in the area.
Charles Nolan faces murder charges for killing Thomas Good in Madison on August 27. The circuit court will send the case to a jury late this afternoon for deliberation.
In Kenosha Wisconsin Feb 5 a white miner Alex Wertenen suddenly turned ink black from head to toe while at work in a Kenosha tannery. Manager E C Thiers and several witnesses confirm the transformation and cannot explain its cause. Wertenen formerly worked in Upper Michigan copper mines and is about 36 years old.
The Rusk Lyceum club of Janesville High School hosted a waltz and encore in darkness at a ball last night. Lights out at midnight created a lively show lasting about thirty minutes. The novelty delighted attendees but sparked parental concern and local controversy.
La Crosse Wis February 3 Special The Minnesota Supreme Court affirms a district court judgment holding banker Joseph R Clements of La Crosse responsible for the collapse of the Fillmore County Bank at Preston Minnesota which closed August 1898 with liabilities over 100000 and assets under 500 Twenty three depositors sued Clements claiming profits from bank he says he had not part in since 1894 He faces trial in Caledonia Minnesota later this month on fraudulent banking and grand larceny charges in thirteen counts. He has been jailed in Preston since September.
Brillion Wisconsin reports a natural gas well on William Wiechert’s farm flowed for 150 hours at 13 to 15 pounds, supplying cooking baking and lighting. A temporary company acquired a six month option, then the well caved in and later gas returned with 20 pounds pressure. The gas is piped to a dwelling for lighting heating and lime burning.

It awaits assistance from Ann Arbor No. 1 which passed at 11 o clock. Ludington reports F and P M Nos. 2 and 5 back in service after two months idle. No. 5 to carry grain from Milwaukee. No. 2 gets new captain William Burnett.
In Wautoma Wisconsin on February 3 a general merchandise store run by Charles Tice in Corrill was robbed. Thieves blew the safe and took about $400 and several dollars in postage stamps from the post office in the building. No clues yet. officers have pursued leads all day. This marks the second robbery in the past year at the same store.
In Union Grove coroner says Margaret McCormick 84 died of old age and heart failure after an inquest found no signs of murder or self harm. The report lists additional Wisconsin deaths including Fred Lilgan James Bohan Mary A Lewis Charles Rose Mrs James Fogarity and David J Reese with ages and brief notes.
Rev Father Taugher and his sister plan a trip to Meeme for their parents golden wedding anniversary. Michael Taugher and wife, born in Ireland, married in Buffalo and settled in Wisconsin in 1847. He has long served on the county board and the event will draw over 100 attendees from Fond du Lac and beyond.
George Pauli aged 14, son of Mr and Mrs Herman Pauli, has been missing from his Kaukauna home since last Tuesday evening. Police Marshal Richard Conlon began a systematic search after the disappearance, with no clue located to date.
John McKowan foreman on the No. 3 ore dock at Marquette fell from a height of forty feet yesterday afternoon landing on timbers. Both arms were broken the head badly cut one leg disjointed he was taken to St Mary's hospital in critical condition. He is married with a family in West Superior.
Gail Blanchard charged with murder in Rib Lake Wisconsin was moved from February 5 to the spring term. He is on bonds and employed by the J J Kennedy Lumber company of Rib Lake.
J Ward of four miles west of Eden Wisconsin was struck while crossing the track ahead of a passenger train. His horse was fatally injured and must be killed. Ward escaped injury by leaping from the carriage. the carriage and wagon were wrecked.
Alonzo Barnes longtime buyer for Rockwell Manufacturing Milwaukee and prominent white pine trader is dying at his Brodhead home Wisconsin. Also reported death of Mrs Walter Veerhusen who burned when her dress caught fire from a gasoline stove at Hayes hospital after injuries a few weeks prior.
A white cat climbed a tree to escape a dog in Brooklyn last night and reached a fragile branch about 60 feet above ground. The branch broke and the cat landed on its feet, then bounded away, suggesting a Brooklyn cat can survive a 60 foot fall. Last week Leadville, Colorado, suffered three dynamite explosions causing property damage.
Rev. Harry Thompson of St. Matthew’s Episcopal plans to sue two well known Kenosha men for ceremony fees after weddings were celebrated. Oshkosh Wisconsin February 2 Special Miller T Walker and Timothy M Walker of Omro are sole heirs to bank stock and government bonds valued at 75000 left by Nancy Dikeman of Castleton Vermont. She died last fall at her brother Timothy Walker's home in Omro and wealth discovery came recently. Miller T Walker is a nephew of the deceased.
Marinette Wisconsin February special report says Thomas Evans James Murphy and George Edwards alleged safe blowers were held to the grand jury meeting in May at Marquette Michigan on burglary charges involving the Wallace Michigan post office They were held on bonds of 1000 each and were sent to Milwaukee by two U S marshals The trio is credited with opening eight of ten safes in northern Wisconsin and Michigan and securing between 2000 and 3000 dollars
Rev William Forkell resigns as pastor of First Methodist and plans an independent non sectarian church in Green Bay at month end. Dr Thomas of Chicago's People's church will inaugurate the movement. Sunday services will be in the Green Bay theater. Forkell has a call from a Depere Congregational church but has not answered.
In Plain eight miles north of Spring Green a seven year old daughter of John B Bauer died from clothes catching fire at a stove. In Sun Prairie Peter Walbridge a farmer suffered a broken leg from being knocked over and trampled. In Chippewa Falls the daughter of Am born was burned when her clothes ignited. In Racine Howard Johnson a 42 year old painter was killed by a freight train.

Prairie du Chien Wisconsin February 2 An elderly veteran Pat O Dea aged 0 years on furlough from the Milwaukee Soldiers home was found frozen to death in a house where he lived alone.
