Republican County Convention Elects Jenkins Delegation

Bayfield County Republicans met at the Court House on Monday to elect delegates to the Menomonie congressional convention. H. C. Hale was chairman, Harry Hall secretary, with a Jenkins delegation unopposed including A. W. McLeod J. E. Jones Louis Wold John McKay H. C. Hale and T. J. Humbird. Resolutions praised McKinley expansion policy and Bayfield County leadership. pledged support for Robert M. LaFollette and endorsed Representative John J. Jenkins for renomination.

John Baxter, member of the city ball team this spring and now a second baseman for Bayfield, was arrested last Monday night in Bayfield on a larceny from person charge. His preliminary hearing in Bayfield was adjourned to Saturday. bonds set at $300 were furnished.
