A Mitchell car driven by Philip Kinney overturned on the Houghton road between the city and Raarup corner Sunday evening. Kinney said sand caused the skid while turning out to pass a team. Roy girl of Bayfield was treated at Ashland hospital for hip injuries. other occupants were only slightly bruised. The top was up, likely reducing injury risk.

Bayfield County Volunteers Head for Training Camps
Bayfield County in August plans a large voluntary mobilization from the 1918 class for training at multiple camps. Eleven men were sent Thursday to training, with assignments to Jefferson Barracks and a Mississippi camp. Mail Carrier and Drayman Accident At City Dock
Charles Willey driver of an auto truck tried to avoid a boy with a wagon on the hill near the City Dock. He cramped the wheels to avoid collision, the truck slid over the dock rail and partly left the edge. The machine was damaged but Willey escaped injury.

DuPont To Build YMCA Facility On Beers Club Site
City council granted a permit for a new 104 by 50 foot two story YMCA building with a basement on the Bayfield Street Central Avenue site. The project, to be fireproof and stucco finished, will be turned over to the National YMCA for use by plant employees and city residents. Letters report Herman Dahl of Iron River wounded in action in France while escorting a German prisoner.
