Fort Wayne Baptist association marks thirty fifth anniv

The Fort Wayne Baptist association held its thirty fifth anniversary in the First Baptist church on Sept 8 9 and 10 with delegates from sixteen churches and mission societies. Notables included Rev J S Boyden Rev E W Lonsberry Rev J N Field Rev G B Newcomb and others. Judge Weaton presided at the Y W P U session and delivered the address. The gathering, led by Rev George H W Lockhart, was profitable and blessed with broad participation by clergy and lay representatives. Next year the association meets with the Fort Wayne First Baptist Church.

Field Day Meeting at Winona Park Under Grange Auspices

The Winona park field day and picnic, under the Grange, drew patrons, farmers, and families despite threatening weather. Hon Milton Truster and Taaiah 11 spoke on Grange work, with addresses by Mon. Salah Imler and other officials. a Grange feast preceded speeches and a strong sense of community. Nearby Sidney narrowly escaped tragedy as a buggy horse was killed by a Nickel Plate freight, though children escaped unharmed.

Citizens Meeting Urges New Warsaw High School Building

Citizens gathered in the Warsaw court room led by Mayor Richardston to discuss high school needs. They endorsed proceeding to provide a modern building, urging the school board to act promptly and anticipate a future tax election for funding.

Last week W C Smith proprietor and Ed B Smith manager of Heavy Smith shoe store formed the Smith Bros Shoe company with W C Smith of Marion as president Lizzie Smith as vice president and Ed B Smith as secretary The store will run at the same location under new ownership Ed B Smith will continue to manage the business He death note follows about Mrs Cyrenus Coplen at Pierceton after paralysis and paralyic stroke grieving family summoned at her passing.
