Big Money in Farm Deals Across the Indiana Border
Within the past two or three years many Illinois farmers sold lands in Illinois and bought farms near Logansport in Cass County and nearby counties. Illinois land fetched 25 to 40 dollars more per acre than Indiana land, prompting migration to Indiana where buyers improved their financial standing by hundreds. One farmer sold a Illinois tract for 100 dollars an acre and purchased Deer Creek land for about 70 dollars, now debt free and wealthy in this community. The price gap explanation remains unclear but the trend is strong as Logansport Pharos reports.
