Treasury balance at lowest point in Pennsylvania history
Pennsylvania state treasury on September 1 stood at its lowest level since February with $64,698,751.62 on August 31, down from $69,439,084 on July 31. The decline, as explained by State Treasurer S. Lewis, stems largely from highway department spendings on road construction and repairs, with about $3 million withdrawn from the highway fund in July and August, and nearly a million from the general fund.
