Officials warned the fire could not be stopped until wind subsided.

Warren County Good Roads Meeting Draws Record Attendance

Ninety two of a hundred fifteen members attended the Warren County Good Roads Association dinner meeting at noon in the WYM hall. Col D F A Wheelock presided, Addison White acted as master of ceremonies, and George E Leavy served as secretary. The gathering emphasized moving Warren county out of the mud with a slogan stressing progress over a single route.

Drivers Qualify At Indianapolis

Nineteen driving entrants sought to qualify for the 500 mile Motor Speedway classic but rain blocked yesterday’s attempts on the two and a half mile course. Thirty three cars will start Monday at 10 am with Frank Lockhart’s Miller leading qualifying by setting a track record at around 120 mph. The field could reach forty entrants for the race. Race fans statewide await the event.
