Relics of Civil War days exhibited at Schwing's
Schwing's Smoke Shop on Liberty street displays two Civil War relics attracting attention. A Lime photograph from the Warren County courthouse steps shows many G A R members, with a few recognizable. A lithograph charter lists the Warren County Company, including captain DeWitt C. James and second lieutenant Eben N. Ford. Also shown is a one page 1883 Daily Citizen printed in Vicksburg on wall paper denouncing the Yankees and General Grant. The wall paper copy, dated 1853, notes Grant's dinner in Vicksburg and the Confederate siege era.
