Coroner's jury verdict follows inquest into Clyde E Baker a 51 year old Pleasant township rural mail carrier killed when his touring car was struck by a Pennsylvania passenger train at F N tower near Warren He died at Warren General Hospital at 11 35 PM after saying he waited for the eastbound Ayer to pass before crossing the tracks and that he did not hear a whistle or bell The crash left the Chevrolet crumpled and wreckage at the tower foot Baker was returning from a potato trip to Warren Continued on Page Two.
Lieut. Muir 5 Fairchild, Army Air Pilot, fell ill with appendicitis during the Bremen relief expedition to Greenly Island. He arrived in Washington by train, conferred with Assistant Secretary Davison, and headed to Langley Field for treatment. Major General Fechet reported fog and ice hampering landings. Melchoir planned to descend by parachute if weather permits.
Milton J Beaty left his entire estate to his widow Roth Beaty under a May 4 1917 will filed with Register Danelia Wilder. The will names Mrs Beaty executrix and directs payment of debts and funeral expenses. If she predeceases him the estate would be divided among their children. Beaty was drowned in Chau tanaua Lake on April 4 his body later buried at Oakland Cemetery.
Chief Cornplanter Post hosts E. E. Hollenback of Philadelphia commander of the Department of Pennsylvania American Legion, as he arrives from Erie after dedicating Roger Israel Post home. Mr. and Mrs. Hollenback stay at Carver House and register in Warren.
Miss Mary Dorworth of Warren High School faculty has secured release from her contract to teach next year to accept an offer from the University of Syracuse. The Board of Education granted the release. Dorworth, a French teacher, has been offered a teaching fellowship and will enter Syracuse in September to pursue a master's degree. She has taught in Warren for two years, originally hailing from Oil City.
A jury in Washington county court found Wray Wormsley, a Black man, guilty of first degree murder for killing Tsrael Slotaky on January 17 and imposed the death sentence as provided by law.

Berlin May 18 Foreign Minister Stresemann has passed the crisis of illness that alarmed physicians earlier this week. An official bulletin at 11 am stated he is progressing favorably and that the crisis has been passed with no relapse expected.
In Congress today the Senate continues tax reduction debate while a presidential campaign investigation committee holds hearings. Public lands panel begins inquiry into Salt Creek oil leases with Foreign Relations weighing Barlow claims against Caba House. Fenn reapportionment bill remains under consideration.
Warren Girls Glee Club won first place at Clarion State Teachers College musical festival, edging out Clarion and Du Bois. Warren County schools performed strongly with top showings in Girls Trio and Boys Glee, while Oil City lagged in orchestra. About 1500 people from western Pennsylvania attended, with seventeen area schools competing.
Henry H. Hassett was unanimously reelected chairman of the Warren County Republican committee at a Friday afternoon meeting in the courthouse. He thanked the committee for harmony while R. E. Waid was named temporary chairman and W. W. Mur was chosen secretary. Parshall urged turnout for the next election and backed Coolidge or Dawes for the GOP ticket. Harmonious party spirit was praised by Siegins and others as they stressed hard work ahead.
Coach French Duncan will finalize the Legion Junior League squad this week after intensive practice begins Tuesday. Fifteen to twenty regulars will wear Chief Cornplanter Post colors on the national junior league diamond this summer. A first workout is set for tomorrow at 8 30 on the brewery lot field, with Al Wolfe joining the coaching staff.
