Washington March 1 Harry Sinclair allegedly advanced 260090 in government bonds to help pay the 1921 Republican campaign deficit William H Hays former Republican national committee chairman testified before the Teapot Dome committee He later said 100000 was repaid to Sinclair leaving 160000 as Sinclair s personal contribution He denied knowledge of the Continental Trading Company and noted no record of bond serial numbers The committee has traced 76000 of Continental bonds to the Republican committee
Seven policyholders of Tribune insurance received checks this week under the Tribune plan for income while healing from injuries. Three recipients listed here include Ward M. Baver of Warren with a fractured arm from January 28, Oscar E. Swanson of Sheffield with a wrist fracture from December 23, and Oscar B. Eliz of Jewett with a sprained ankle from December 26. Wednesday’s disbursements were sent to Aaron Jefferson Fish of Russell Blanche E. O Leary of Kingua Pearl Cummings and John Wamen from a bath of Kone.

Washington March 1 The judiciary committee urged the house to pass the Stalker bill establishing five years in prison and a ten thousand dollar maximum fine for a first offense under prohibition laws. The current maximums are one year and one thousand dollars.

A nominating committee was announced and publicity plans for Community Chest ads begin Friday March 9. Charter night entertainment is set for Thursday March 8 with members and wives invited. C W Strauss sang two baritone solos and county nurse Lucille Larson attended.
The nominating committee met at Chester Allen s office and prepared a slate for officers and directors for the coming year. President H W Conarro, vice president Va F Genge, treasurer B S Knainshue, secretary Mrs H P Stone. Board nominees include Mrs W C Heasley, Richard Smith, Mrs C M Stoddart, John Hessey and R Z Morrison. Elections set for March 21 at the club.
Pittsburgh dispatch reports Fire Chief William R. Lynch arrived home to a blaze and found his own children Bobby four and Jack three suffocated in a rear attic playroom behind a Beaver-board partition. Fire originated near the attic stair and smoke blocked escape. Mother became hysterical on returning home. property damage pegged at 5060 dollars.
