Wilkes-Barre June 27 UP A minimum sentence of one to two years in jail was imposed today on nine defendants convicted of conspiracy in handling Hanover township school district affairs. Seven were former directors. two were a contractor and an architect. Judge Fuller imposed fines of 500 dollars and costs. Names include John A. Reilly James J. Curry William B. Delaney David Richards William H. Morris W. P. F. Boyle P. J. Lenahan Herman Mailander and Ralph M. Horr. Counsel said an appeal would be filed to delay jail until the case advances.
Walter H Glasgow of Scottdale Westmoreland County was named secretary of mines by Governor John S Fisher. The appointment, effective July 1, is part of a reorganization creating separate bureaus for anthracite and bituminous mines. Glasgow will earn 10000 annually and succeeds Joseph J Walsh as acting head of the department.
