Rate Cut Denied to Baltimore and Ohio Railroad

The Interstate Commerce Commission refused to permit the Baltimore and Ohio to join a 20 cent per ton rate reduction on lake coal from Pennsylvania West Virginia and Ohio pan handle regions. The B and O had asked only for a 10 cent cut and could not justify a 20 cent reduction without proper 30 days notice. Southern operators protested the short notice the commission granted to other lines.
