Prominent British Suffragist Mrs Pankhurst Dies
London June 14 Mrs Emmeline Pankhurst prominent British suffrage leader and mother of Sylvia Pankhurst has died at a west end nursing home after months of illness. Widow of Richard Marsden Pankhurst she devoted life to votes for women. During the war she left reform work to aid national service and gave many recruiting speeches. Her daughters Christabel and Sylvia continued her movement. Her notable writings include My Own Story published in 1914.

Mine War Outbreaks Reported in Ohio
Two additional mine war outbreaks were reported in Jefferson county Ohio. A crowd of about 250 men partially destroyed Joe Slinsky’s home at Dillonyard after he returned to work at Nicholson private mine yesterday.
