Hoover Attacked in Statement by Norris
Washington and Kansas City reports show Senator Norris of Nebraska condemning methods used by Hoover supporters to court Southern delegates. Norris calls it a recurring four year spectacle of buying and trading delegates to influence the Republican convention. Good disputes Norris charges, citing records that few contests occurred and that Texas and Florida are the only true disputes. Mississippi supports Hoover. Norris also suggests Muscle Shoals bill timing could push a third party into the field if the bill is not signed.
