Memphis Tenn June 7 The eleventh annual Kiwanis International convention opened with attention on presidential candidates. Will Fowler named Henry Heinz treasurer as a possible choice with strong backing. About 5 008 Kiwanians attend the session. The first business meeting was held yesterday afternoon.

Mrs Clarence Chamberlin and Mrs Charles A Levine sailed at 1 am on the 8 8 Berlin to join their husbands in Berlin. A crowd of more than 20,000 lined the pier as the women left Hoboken. Mrs Chamberlin expressed thrill and happiness at finally going to Berlin to be with her husband en route to the German capital. Captain Rahat received the party aboard the German government ship and attorney Ranivel Hartman accompanied Mrs Levine and Mrs Chamberlin aboard.
United Press reports President Coolidge plans a White House stay and a stop in Pierre with Governor of South Dakota and state officials before Rapid City. Hermosa Mayor George Kimble welcomes the visit, noting it will bring famed Black Hills figures and local legends to life for the president and residents. Old West figures like Deadwood Dick Calamity Jane Wild Bill Hickok are mentioned as part of local lore.
Nontiomy Mo June 7 A T W Allen a farmer near Richland Church says a Leghorn rooster has maternal instincts. The bird has sat two weeks on a nest of three eggs and protected a fine family. Allen plans to enter the rooster and its brood in a state poultry show.
Pere Levine of Pittsburgh and father of aircraft maker Charles Levine plans to travel to Germany this week to join his son who is already there. The move follows reports of Levine’s business ventures with Bellanca and Clarenca Chamb.
Chicago dispatch reports a 12 member regatorial greeting committee announced by Vice Dawes to welcome Captain Charles Lindbergh on his Washington arrival. Members include Senators Curtis Robinson Schall Shipstead Reed Hawes Warren Swanson Hale Copeland Norrison and Reed, with cross state representation.

Los Angeles June 7 Charles Lafotte aviator has not given up hope of winning Miss Norson Burke of San Diego despite the unsuccessful airplane hiding that led to a dozen search planes. Lafotte was arrested at Rogers airport with a passenger but released after Miss Burke failed to press charges. Friends say the San Diego based Richmadher had vowed that if he ever captured her in his plane he would marry her or die trying.
The Warren County Sunday School Association re elected Rev Doverspike president at the opening meeting. Officers include Dr C I Prante as vice president and administrative superintendent, L A Imma as secretary, and Raynon M Kinder as treasurer. Divisional superintendents named for children, young people, adult, and other departments. Evening banquet and dinners planned, attendance strong.
Chicago’s oldest native born resident Edward Beaubien died late yesterday at age 92. He was born in a Clark and Madison street area home and had been honored by the Old Settlers’ society.
